The Beginning 4/29/11
I have decided to take the next year and begin a journey. It is a journey I've tried many times before but seldom finished. Each year most of us begin with resolutions in January that we invariably quit before Valentine's day in February.
I have looked over those doomed expeditions into an improved, healthier me, and been astounded that I even began such a halfhearted attempt to change anything much less myself. All of my efforts were begun without a plan and without the admission that more than one thing must change in my life to achieve success.
The first change is that I shall begin to implement my plan May 1, 2011. This gives me several days to mourn the old me and gather the ammunition necessary to implement my plans. It also allows me to escape the terrible karma New Year's resolutions have. The second change is the number of things I will be working on. I firmly believe a "wholistic" approach will be needed to implement lasting change. I will work on my health (weight), clean up my finances, find a fulfilling career path, take up old hobbies, and green my surroundings.
This may seem like a lot and it may look to the casual observer that I have taken on too many things but in reality if you look at your life you will find many things are interrelated. By making changes in each area they will begin to affect the other areas I am working on in a symbiotic way.
This should be an interesting and gratifying year.
